Emergency Services
The Town of Noma is committed to keeping residents safe through responsive local emergency services and strong partnerships with county agencies. Below are the primary services available to our community.
Noma Volunteer Fire Department
The Noma Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) provides fire protection and emergency response services within the town limits and surrounding areas. The department is staffed entirely by volunteer firefighters who dedicate their time to serving the community.
In an Emergency: Dial 911

- Medical first response until EMS arrives
- Vehicle accident response
- Storm and disaster assistance
- Public safety support during community events
Volunteer Opportunities
NVFD is always seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with firefighting, emergency response, and support roles. No prior experience is necessary—training is provided.

Law Enforcement
The Town of Noma does not operate its own police department. All law enforcement services are provided by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies patrol the area, respond to calls for service, conduct investigations, and provide community protection throughout Noma and the surrounding region.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Emergency medical response and ambulance transport are provided countywide by Holmes County EMS.
